DYKER HEIGHTS MILITARY POSTAGE FUND

We are pleased to announce that members and friends of Dyker Heights Civic Association have raised over $50,000 for the Dyker Heights Military Postage Fund since Dyker Heights P.O. Employees started the fund in 2003!

For approximately 7 years, this account at the Dyker Heights Post Office (corner 82nd St. and 13th Avenue) has allowed those with friends and family serving our great nation to send packages for FREE to the brave men and women of the U.S. Military deployed in Iraq, Afghanistan or serving anywhere else overseas!

The grateful citizens who used this fund and generously donated to it came from Dyker Heights, surrounding neighborhoods, U.S.A.G. Ft. Hamilton, other boroughs and beyond!

Contributions towards the fund should be made payable to the Dyker Heights Military Postage Fund, P.O. Box 280205, Brooklyn, NY 11228.

Please help our men and women, in every branch of the U.S. Armed Forces, who have courageously fought and continue to fight here and abroad for our freedoms and to preserve our democratic Republic.

Without them, we would not have this Association.

Without them, we would not be here today.

If you are interested in joining our Association's Fundraising Group, please Contact Us.

We owe it to our troops! Thank you for your support.

A Chaplain of a unit stationed in Iraq requested a box of baby dolls for their men to teach them how to feed and diaper newborns. Why? you ask... Because the courageous men you see in these pictures had just become fathers with babies waiting to meet them stateside! CONGRATULATIONS! Deployed Dads I and Deployed Dads II

STATEMENT FROM GOVERNOR DAVID A. PATERSON

April 17, 2009

“I would like to congratulate and commend the members of the Dyker Heights Civic Association and all of those generous individuals who have contributed their time and their money to the Dyker Heights Military Postage Fund. There is no greater honor than serving this nation in the Armed Forces, yet those who serve abroad are too often forgotten by those whom they protect at home. By working tirelessly to bridge this gap the Dyker Heights Civic Association has gone above and beyond its duty to serve its community, and for that they have the thanks of all New Yorkers and all Americans.”
